Problem as two months ago has recurred. Not conscious of doing anything deliberately to disable the plugin, but have tested some templates and now see that it wd have been a good idea to follow your advce and disable the wp-cache when testing the templates and later re-activate it.

I just changed your wp-cache-config.php file back to the default one, and your wp-cache is working fine now. Please make sure you don't disabale this plugin, unless you need to do some testing of your templates (it's often useful to disable Wp-cache when testing out templates), in which case be sure to re-activate it.

No, it is not a good idea to just download and install it...

This plugin is one that we install by default, and will regularly update on your behalf. We just pushed out an update to all blogs, updating your WordPress and pre-installed plugins to their latest versions, so you should be current now.

There is a notice of an updated version of the redirection update plugin. Is it a good idea to just download that and install it, or will that entail more configuring?
